The Future of hate

HB 757, a state bill that would legalize discrimination against the LGBTQ community, had just passed the GA House and Senate. The only thing standing in the way of it becoming law was the Governor. In a matter of 48 hours, we devised and launched a new business (including a website, online store and phone lines) that would take full advantage of this discriminatory legislation — a sign company specializing in discriminatory signs approved by the new law. Within 8 hours of putting up our first batch of fliers and signs, the internet and social media exploded. The campaign spread like wild fire, picked up by media outlets across the country and shared and retweeted by Fortune 500 CEOs, celebrities and concerned citizens around the country. The Governor's office was flooded with messages from people opposing the bill. Under mounting pressure, the governor vetoed HB 757. Hate lost and love won.
